When Gautham Buddha is born he was predicted to become either a Sanyasi or a Chakravarthin (universal monarch) by the astrologer Asita. The prediction comes true and he ultimately becomes a Sanyasi- but the truth is that had he become a chakravartin he should have ruled a physical piece of land /probably a bigger one- say, from magadha to Kalinga or more, as Asoka did, but instead he conquers millions of heart’s and influences a lot more with his compassionate heart and dhamma.

So, in that sense Gauthama Buddha is a TRUE CHAKRAVARTIN( a universal monarch);
